 FAITH
 FORGIVENESS
 In him we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of
God’s grace. Ephesians 1:7
 Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
A Personal Journey
 For if you forgive men when they sin against you,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you
do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not
forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not
condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive,
and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37
 Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave
you. Ephesians 4:32
 For if you forgive other people when they sin against

 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives
the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever but delight to show
mercy. Micah 7:18
 Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that
through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed
to you. Through him everyone who believes is set
free from every sin, a justification you were not able
to obtain under the law of Moses. Acts 13:38-39
 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling
and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind
and compassionate to one another, forgiving each
other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Physiological Impacts of Unforgiveness

 Negative emotions emerge that cause an increased blood
presser, chronic stress, bulimia or anorexia, confusion
 Short-Term Intense Responses, impairing interaction with
other people. The brain goes into a hyperactive state
causing hormonal imbalances, which impacts
communication skills, thinking ability and decision making
powers.
 Depression, resulting in anxiety, short-temperament,
sleeplessness and the inability to trust his or her feelings.
 Paranoid Personality Disorder, the brain no longer reacts
to situations in a normal manner. The person no longer
has control of their emotions, can not form a firm opinion
and demonstrates little self-control.

way for happiness, health and peace. Forgiveness
can lead to:
 Healthier relationships
 Greater spiritual and psychological well-being
 Less anxiety, stress and hostility
 Lower blood pressure
 Fewer symptoms of depression
 Stronger immune system
 Improved heart health
 Higher self-esteem
Truths about Forgiveness
 You can NEVER expect the other side to forgive first.
 The emotions that surround forgiveness must be
“put to bed before bedtime”
 If you fail to forgive, you will repeat the test!
