Informal Lyme-Autism Study
Testing Methods/Criteria
• IFA and Western Blot IgG and IgM were performed by IgeneX
Inc.
• Patients were NOT screened. The criteria was that the child
needed an autism, pdd-nos or asperger’s diagnosis PLUS
some sort of immune dysfunction.
• It was attempted to get matching controls for each child.
• Samples were taken from CA, NV, AZ, IL,NY, NJ, WI, TX.
Informal Lyme-Autism Study
Testing Methods/Criteria
• 19 autistic samples were obtained and 5
controls
• Positive result would indicate one or more
borrelia specific bands testing positive.
• Ambiguous result would indicate 2 or more
indeterminate bands which are borrelia
specific. (this would indicate a possible re-test
after a treatment trial.)

What does 26.32% of autistic children
affected mean?
At least……
132,000 children
with autism could be affected by Lyme Disease
(borrelia bacteria)
