Cat Dissection
Follow the directions given by your lab instructor
Using your lab manual and the books provided, find and
identify the muscles listed in the objectives.
You may need to cut some of the superficial muscles to
find deep muscles. Do this on only one side the of the
cat so that the other remains intact for study.
For further study, refer to the “Web pages” power
point on E-Reserves.
After dissection:
•Wrap the cat in damp cheesecloth
•Place it back in the bag.
•Be sure to tightly seal the top of the bag.
•Make a tag for you cat with your names (or a
way to identify your cat), instructor’s name,
and the time of your lab section.
