Figure, Supplemental Digital Content 1. Case example. The preoperative coronal CT-scan (a) shows a Sanders type II A-fracture with tilting of
the sustentacular fragment of about 15 degrees (bowed wide arrow). The sagittal reconstructions (b, c) show the posterior facet fragment
tilted about 40 degrees and a separate “balcony fragment” (Bartoniček J, personal communication). This fragment (wide arrow) corresponds to
the strong cortical bone at the angle of Gissane. If this fragment is broken the orientation for anatomic reduction of the posterior facet
becomes more difficult because the continuity to the anterior process fragment is lost. (d) The 3D reconstruction shows the tilted and
impacted posterior facet and the amount of lateral bulging (same patient as in Figs. 1-4).
