for answering sentence equivalence questions
by discussing examples and answering
practice exercises
• Complete timed quizzes to demonstrate you
master the method
• Point out vocabulary development strategies
Sentence equivalence
• 4 questions
always select 2 answers
(1 minute each)
• You are given a single sentence with a missing
word. You need to find two words that
complete the sentence with the same
meaning. These question test your ability to
determine a sentence’s meaning and to select
the best vocabulary according to the context.
Kaplan Method for Sentence

• Step 1 Read the sentence, look for clues
• Step 2 Predict the answer
• Step 3 Select the two choices that most
closely
matches your prediction
• Step 4 Check your answer
