Transcript Senseless Sentences

Directions:
Open “Sentence Pyramid Answer Sheet” from
Student Common.
You will start with a three letter word. Enter the
given word. Then type ONE word that starts with
each letter to make a sentence.
You get ONE point for each word you type.
IF you COMPLETE all the letters, AND your sentence
makes sense, give yourself the bonus.
You will get more time the longer the word is—
starting at 20 seconds for the 3-letter word, all
the way to 2 minutes for the 12-letter word.
EXAMPLES:
Example 1: Emily typed in the word,
“Proper” but was only able to
come up with four words. She
gets one point for each word.
Example 2: Pedro typed in all six
words. He gets six points, but also
a 10 pt bonus because he finished
all the words AND his sentence
makes sense.
EXAMPLES:
Example 3: Jan finished all six
words, and gets six points. BUT,
she did not type a real sentence
that makes sense, so she does
NOT get the 10 pt bonus.
Scoring:
The only scores you need to enter are your raw
scores—the one point for each word typed—
and the 10 pt bonus if you get it.
The rest of the scoring will add up automatically,
and will show in red on the right side.
NOTE: You get more points for getting a bonus
on the longer words!
Rules:
1. No sentence fragments—it must be a full sentence
with a subject, verb and noun to get the 10 pt bonus.
2. Sentences must have proper sentence structure to
count—but they do not have to make sense!
3. You do not have to complete each set. If you want to
spend more time on one set and skip the one after it,
you may do so.
4. No “made-up” words. Must be real words!
5. You cannot add extra words like “to” and “a” to make
it make sense. It is only ONE WORD per letter.
6. You may wait until the end to enter your scores.
