These flashcards contain our high-frequency/word wall words. It is
important for your child to master reading and writing these words.
Your child should be able to read and write these words with little to no
assistance.
Ideas for learning high frequency words:
• Have your child locate them in favorite books. magazines and
newspapers.
• Write them in shaving cream/rice tray.
• Review the words using silly voices (Ex. underwater, cowboy,
princess, monster, mouse, disco, robot, blast off, hula, yo-yo)
• Create sentences using the words.
• Write words on a tic-tac-toe board and play with a friend.
• Make a copy of the flashcards to play memory.
• Have your child guess the word by giving them clues such as, how
many letters are in the word, what letter it begins with, what it rhymes
with, number of syllables, etc.
• Partner spell the words. Each person says a letter in the word until the
word is completed.
