You will write sentences using 6 words
from the list

Sentences show your understanding of the
word and ability to use it well
Sentences may change the tense or form of a
word, but must use the new form of the word
correctly
Example: Change opulent (adj.) to opulence (noun)
Writing Effective Sentences
Sentences must give enough context to
show your understanding of the word.
If word could be replaced by several
others, you have not given enough
context.
Example: Opulent (adj. 1) characterized by or
exhibiting extreme affluence; 2) wealthy, rich, or affluent; 3)
richly supplied, abundant)
No: The house was opulent.
Yes: The opulent house was decorated with velvet curtains,
gold statues, and crystal chandeliers.
