Literacy students can copy, spell, and sound out three
letter words
Low Beginners can group words by beginning consonant
sound including voiced/voiceless
High Beginners can circle consonant clusters, put a small
group of words in ABC order, notice short/long vowels,
pronounce –ed endings
Advanced can sort words by part of speech, change
verbs into gerunds/infinitives, change adjectives into
adverbs
