We are in third grade and learned many facts about
space. The best part about studying space was getting to do
all kindsof science experiments. Please take a moment and

space.
• It takes 224.7 days to
orbit the sun.
• It is on the far side of
the sun.
Saturn
• Named after the
Roman god of
farming.
• The rings are made of
pieces of ice.
• About 890 miles from
the sun.
The Moon
• The moon’s phases are new moon, first
quarter moon, full moon, and last quarter
moon.
• The moon revolves around the earth and
rotates as it revolves.
• There are craters on the moon that are
caused by pieces of flying rock in outer
space.

• Space was very interesting to research. Our group
learned so much about the different planets. We
were very surprised to learn that the planets are
almost never in a straight line. Also, there are
many moons in outer space. Why doesn’t our
moon have a name?
