My name is Samantha Shannon. I
am 9 years of age. I enjoyed
learning about space. My favorite
planet is Jupiter. I really like space.
My name is Jenna I am 9 and I
really enjoyed learning about the
planets and constellations. I hope
you enjoy learning about space too.
My name is Ashleigh. We had a

All about Earth
• Earth could fit inside the
sun 1 million times…with
room to spare. Scientists
however, are not able to
go 4,000 miles to the
earth’s center to see what
it looks like there. You can
find many constellations.
Pictures of earth show its
oceans. Sometimes Earth
is called the blue planet.
All about Jupiter
• Jupiter is 480 million
miles from the sun. If
Jupiter were hollow, more
than 1,300 planets could
fit inside. Jupiter is the
largest planet. Jupiter has
at least sixteen moons.
Jupiter’s red spot rains and
it never stops.
All about Mars
Mars has polar cups and
clouds. There are volcano’s
on Mars that are not active.
Mars looks like a bright star.
Mars was once very hot inside.
All about the Sun
• The distance between the sun
and the earth varies because the
earth travels in an orbit. The
sun is very hot. If astronauts
even went near it they would
die. People have always
understood the sun’s amazing
power. Long ago, there was no
way for people to study the sun.
Instead, they worshiped god.
Mercury
• Mercury orbits closer to the sun
than any other planet, making it
dry ,hot , and virtually airless.
Mercury is hard to look at from
earth. But Mercury is a planet,
not a star. Mercury takes 59%
of earth days to spin once on its
axis. Mercury is a small, but it’s
heavy for its size.

48 pounds on Mercury. On
Venus she would weigh 115
pounds. On Earth she would
weigh 128 pounds. On Mars
she would weigh 48 pounds.
On Jupiter she would weigh
337 pounds! On Saturn she
would weigh 144 pounds.
On Uranus she would weigh
113 pounds. On Neptune
she would weigh114
pounds. On Pluto she would

Our favorite object that we learned about in space
was the planet Jupiter. It was amazing to find out
that Jupiter has a constant storm. We are so glad
that earth does not have a great red spot!
