$1,000’s of dollars!
• CHS students who take 3 or more CTE courses
have a 100% graduation rate (2013 data)

a 94% graduation rate

Once students successfully complete Algebra 2 or Honors Algebra 2
they may take as many of the remaining courses as their schedule
allows.
AP Statistics and AP Calculus are year-long courses that offer students
the opportunity to earn up to 5 college credits with successful
completion of the AP exam.

We are in our second year using the Big Ideas
Program. We are also seeing students who have
experienced three years of Math Expressions in
elementary school. We are seeing an improvement in
conceptual understanding and reasoning abilities.

Health is offered at the 7th and 9th grade level.
7th Grade Health- areas of focus are; communication, systems
of the body & the proper care for each body system, nutrition,
and what it means to be a health care consumer.
9th Grade Health-(This is a graduation requirement of all
students) areas of focus are; First Aid, 5 Components of Fitness,
Growth and Development & Healthy Relationships, and Making
Responsible Decisions in relation to things such as drugs, alcohol
and everyday choices, knowing that all choices have a
consequence whether it be positive or negative.

Special Education
• We offer a continuum of services from self –
contained classes to consult services.
• There are currently 5 special education
teaching positions in the high school who
teach, co-teach classes and provide resource
assistance and 3 in the middle school.
• If your child currently has an individual
education plan (IEP) the special education
teachers will be available after the
presentation to answer questions.
World Languages
• “One language sets you in the corridor for life. Two languages
open every door along the way.” – Frank Smith
• Translators and Interpreters are expected to be one of the 15
fastest growing occupations in the nation according to the
Department of Labor.
• High salaries are available to translators and interpreters who
specialize in legal, medical, technical, or scientific knowledge.
• Once you learn one foreign language, it is easy to pick up other
languages. The more languages you know, the more job
opportunities you will have.
• Students are able to travel with our Spanish Club after three years
of high school Spanish. We have traveled to Costa Rica, Mexico,
Puerto Rico, and Spain. Our trips are homestay experiences
meaning that students will live with families while they are in the
country in order to fully appreciate the culture and the language.
World Languages
• UW- Madison requires two years of a single foreign language in high
school for admission.
• Other colleges strongly recommend two or more years of a single foreign
language.
• Many schools have a foreign language requirement within colleges or
depending on your major. I have more information on this for anyone
who would like to see specific schools in Wisconsin.
• In Spanish IV, V and VI, students will take the UW system foreign language
placement exam. The majority of our students place in the top two levels
which means that they can qualify for up to 16 retroactive credits if they
take one foreign language class in college and earn a final grade of A or B
(3 credit class + 16 retro credits = 19 credits for one class). One foreign
language class could take care of the majority of foreign language
requirements in most majors and save you thousands of dollars as well as
place you ahead of most of your peers in college for class registration and
for housing options.
• We recommend taking at least one Spanish class each year in high school.

High School Graduation Requirements
To be eligible for Campbellsport High School graduation:
1.
Twenty-eight (28) credits will be needed for high school graduation, which shall be earned in
grades 9-12.
2.
The minimum number of credits earned in grades 9-12 shall include credits earned in the
