Social Studies
World History is not a
graduation requirement - it is
only a freshman elective which
can be used to complete the
semester of social studies for
graduation and is one or two
additional credits for college
entrance (see slide #4 & #5).

World History Honors *
*placement based on the recommendation of MS Social
Studies Department. If you select honors and you are
not recommended for honors, you will be placed into
World History to 1350 and World History since 1350.
Selecting your
Physical Education/
Health class
If your last name is begins with A through
last name M, select 1st semester PE (50111)
and 2nd semester Health (50110).
If you last name begins with N through last
name Z or you plan to be in Marching Band,
select 1st semester Health (50110) and
second semester PE (50112).
If you are placed in special education
health*, select 59111 and 59112 plus one
additional semester of PE (50111 or 50112).
*placement will be made by your MS PI.

Register for “Band”
(60001 & 60002)
Students who do not want to take Marching
Band, must select Band (60001) and notify
one of the band directors that you plan to be in
Concert Band 1st quarter.

Make sure you select both
semesters of a year long course
(i.e. TV 160, foreign language, band, choir, Business Tech, Family and
).
Your course
planning guide will tell you whether a course meets for a
Consumer Science, Intro to Ag, Intro to Art
semester or year long.
Meetings at the
Middle School
Counselors will meet with the
entire 8th grade class,
tomorrow, February 5 to
distribute registration materials.
Students and Parents can begin
to enter course requests on
February 6.
Counselors will return to the
middle school on February 14 to
check the computer entries and
collect registration sheets.
Recommendation Letters
A mailing will be sent from
the Middle School with
recommendations for each
student in English, Math,
Science, and Social Studies
on March 7, 2008.

Completing Registration
Students will be selecting courses for
next year online, at home, beginning
February 7.
Make sure you select at least 12 credits
entered “under courses requested”
To begin the process, you will log onto
the Family access page using either the
parent or student access. Follow the
steps on the next frame.

side of column)

Click “Update Request” (Middle of Page)
3.
Highlight the course (Follow your
Registration Worksheet for choices)
4.
Click on “Add Course”
5.
After all courses have been selected, go to
“selected” tab to verify choices.

Print this page
7.
Attach this to your registration sheet,
which must be signed by a parent
8.
Log out
Final Directions
Please do not request your
“alternates” in online
registration. Write them in the
third column of the pink
registration page.
Attached a copy of your course
requests to your pink page (print
from your Skyward account).

signature and a parent
signature.
