Congratulations/Welcome/Introductions
 Over 1000 students tested from almost 100
different Junior High Schools
 TT is a four year magnet program

• Computer Science Principles (Entry course)
• Internship (Capstone course)

International Baccalaureate (IB)
• 2-year rigorous program beginning in the junior year
• Students will be considered during their sophomore
year based on Freshman and Sophomore academic
performance
Testing and Placement
 January placement testing
• Two math sections
• Three English sections
 Decades of data setting students up for
success
 Goal: Meet students at their current level
and enhance their skills to be successful in
rigorous AP/IB courses
Registration

Purpose of today is to sign up for your classes
• Must leave your registration card to guarantee
admittance into TT

Counselors and administrators will be able to
assist you with personal questions
Permits
 Open enrollment or Troy attendance area –
no permit needed
 District enrollment – go to your home school in
the district and start process
 Out of District enrollment – interdistrict transfer
based on unique Troy Tech Magnet program (see 8th
Grade Applicant History and Legislation link on
www.troyhigh.com under Tech/IB)

COMPUTER SCIENCE PRINCIPLES
Year-Long
Computer Science Principles is an introduction to computer science.
The course will cover the following technology related topics:
creativity, abstraction, data and information, algorithms,
programming, the Internet, and global impact.

SPORTS ELIGIBILITY
Athletes are required to:
1. Pass 25 credits (5 classes)
2. Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. (C Average)
3. Have no more than two unsatisfactory marks in citizenship
Eligibility is determined every grading period (10 weeks). If you are declared
ineligible, you may not participate in athletics until your grades have improved at
the next grading period. If you are placed on probation, you may participate in
athletics: however, you are allowed only one probationary period during your four
years of high school.

Summer School begins on Monday, June 1
The first session of Summer School will begin at Troy on Monday, June 1. Please
complete the white Summer School Registration Card found in the registration
packet and return it when the Counselors pick up your registration materials. Cards
can also be obtained from the Counseling Office at Troy High School. Complete
and return the form as soon as possible. We strongly recommend that you take
Health in the summer.
