Team Discipline Plan


If a student breaks a rule, the teacher will write
their name on the board. That is his/her visual
warning that they have broken a rule. There is no
penalty.
If a student breaks a rule a second time, the teacher
will put a check mark next to his/her name. They
have now earned a detention after school with that
teacher.

Team Discipline Plan…


If a student breaks a rule a third time, the teacher
will put two check marks next to his/her name.
They have now earned TWO evening after school
detentions with that teacher.
If the problem persists, other disciplinary actions
will be enforced (i.e. Saturday or Wednesday
Detention, phone call and/or conference with
parents, or a trip to the principal’s office).

Basic Homework Rules




Put the proper heading in the upper right hand corner of
your paper.
On the top line of your paper, indicate the page number and
assignment you are completing.
Make sure your paper is ready to hand in at the
BEGINNING of class.
Any late work will receive a point reduction decided by
your individual teacher. After five school days, the grade
will turn into a zero unless you and your teacher have
mutually agreed on some other arrangement.

Basic Homework Rules…



Complete all assignments on white, notebook
paper unless your teacher asks you to do
otherwise.
Sloppy work is unacceptable. You may be asked
to recopy it neatly for credit.
On Monday, make sure you complete your agenda
book by copying the assignments for the day/week.
Each team teacher will have those posted.

Absence Policy

If you are absent the day an assignment is due, you
are to turn in that assignment the day you return to
school. You will be given one day for each day
absent to make up your work. However, you will
be given a maximum of FIVE school days to make
it up.
Flexible Scheduling
Our team may adapt the schedule when
necessary for the following:




Interdisciplinary activities
Guest speakers
School assemblies
Whenever longer periods of time are required
to aid learning
Delayed Starts

Nordonia Hills City Schools will have four
delayed starts this year to provide in-service
for the staff.



November, February, March and May.
The bus will pick the students up exactly 2 hours
later than normal. Dismissal time remains the
same.
The students will have shortened class periods to
accommodate the teacher in-services.

 Please visit www.nordoniaschools.org for detailed information
regarding cafeteria charges. Information is located at LUNCH
MENU under the Parents & Families tab.
 You can manage your children’s accounts online by visiting:
http://www.myschoolaccount.com
The online account allows you pay using a credit card. Credit
cards will NOT be accepted in the cafeteria.
The cafeteria operates on a cash/money on account only basis for
the 2011-2012 school year. No checks will be accepted in the
cafeterias.

homework and progress at any time by
checking progress book which is located at:

Grades will be updated at least weekly.
We encourage take an active role in your
child’s academic progress
Grading Policy

Assessments of Achievement (90% of grade).
Any assignment, test, quiz or project that
assess student knowledge of the standard
which is to be mastered. These items may
include but are not limited to tests, quizzes,
labs, projects written essays and presentations.

Items not directly reflecting student
achievement (10% of grade). Any assignment
that allows students to practice a skill/concept
learned in class, prepares students for an
upcoming lesson or offers an enrichment
opportunity to challenge students thinking.
These items may include but are not limited to
homework, supply checks and participation
grades.
