Lost their jobs & privileges once the war was over & the men came back home.

Production
- Economic depression ended.
- The whole economy was focused on maintaining the flow of weapons & supplies
-bombs, bullets, ships, aircraft, etc.
- This concentration of Canadian industries on production was called the “total war effort.”
- The government introduced rationing (restrictions on things like: gas, coffee, meat, milk, etc.)
- The American government introduced the Lend Lease Act in 1941, which stated that Allied countries
could buy materials from the USA without having to pay up front.
