Mee-O-Says Hi
Hi my name is Mee-O I am a cell I am going to tell you a very
interesting story about me Meiosis I hope you enjoy.
Well when I was born there really was not much to see calm
down it is not your eye sight I was just a very small guy but
very special.
What’s
up guys !
It’s Time to Learn
I am a special cell I go through a process named after
my own name Meiosis. I produce haploid sex cells if you do
not know what a haploid sex cell is let me explain. A
haploid sex cell is a cell that does not have pairs of
chromosomes. One last thing I’m so special I go through
two divisions Meiosis 1 and Meiosis 2.
Meiosis 1
There are steps in both Meiosis 1 and Meiosis 2. There are
four steps in Meiosis the steps are Prophase 1, Metaphase
1, Anaphase 1, Telophase 1. Before all of this each
chromosome is copied and they come together. Now lets
look at the next slide to see the process.
The Meiosis 1 Process
Meiosis 2
Now Meiosis 2 is not all that different then Meiosis 1 but only
one thing changes the chromosomes are duplicated !
Interesting isn’t it. I’m like a super hero but I’m not really
recognized by the public but I like to think of my self as
more of a side kick of a cell. Well back to Meiosis 2 I shall
show you a little diagram like last time now lets go to the
next slide.
Meiosis 2 Process
It’s over  Just kidding
Do you think Mee – O would leave you without a lot of
information I will explain what each of the Meiosis steps
do. Well to start off Metaphase what the Metaphase is “
the pairs of duplicated chromosomes that line up in the
center of the cell “. Now what Anaphase does is The two
copies of one chromosome they are called chromatids and
they move from each other to different sides of the cell.
Last In Telophase the cytoplasm divides and two new cells
are formed and another chromosome is duplicated with
the new cells. Now its over this is Mee-O I hope to see you
next time friends good bye.
