heavy fighter and strike aircraft and
used by the RAF as fight bomber and night fighter
Waco CG-4A
The CG-4 Hadrian
(CG-4A Waco in US-use)
was a heavily used
troop carrying-glider
of the US Air Force
from 1942 on.
The CG-4A was put together from wood and metal.
Each glider had a pilot and a co-pilot. They were able to carry 13 soldiers
with full equipment or a jeep or a quarter-ton-truck.
The militray glider was loaded through the hinged nose.
