Benefits of a Unified Lead management system
Global Partner Portal
IBM is moving towards a unified lead management
process. This will benefit you in the following ways:
 Simplify lead entry by reducing the number of fields when entering a lead
 Allows you to report and track all of your leads in one place

The Co-funded Marketing UCID, Activity Name and Tactic Code are
systematically imported from the Co-funded Marketing Database
Application into Global Partner Portal pull-down menus.

UCID is a new field in Global Partner Portal that has a pick list displaying all the
UCIDs/Activity Descriptions associated with the Business Partner’s Co-funded
Marketing Applications.

Selecting the UCID/Activity Description of the Co-funded Marketing
application for an opportunity automatically applies the correct IBM Tactic
Code to the opportunity.

Note: If you don’t see your UCID in the list and can’t find it by querying, add it to the Description
field in the Opportunity header record. Use the format in this example (NEUK0020108 is the UCID
number): UCID: NEUK0020108. Make sure Work in GPP is unchecked.

How do I know if I have access to Global Partner Portal ?

Answer: If you are not sure you have access to Global Partner Portal
you can do the following:
I.
Ask you IBM Rep to find out for you, or
II.
Go to Global Partner Portal and try to log in, or
III.
Contact PartnerWorld Contact Services

How can I get help?

Answer: There are several ways you can get help with GPP:
I.
Within GPP you can always click on Help in the toolbar.
II.
Go to the Global Partner Portal support page
III. Find the IBM PartnerWorld Contact Services Team contacts that are
available to help you in your country

3. How can I learn more about Global Partner Portal?
 Answer: Go to the Training tab on the Global Partner Portal Web page.
5. Can I go back into Global Partner Portal and update a lead? Also, can I
update a won or lost lead?
 Answer: Yes, we encourage you to go back into Global Partner Portal to
update your leads through to won or lost stage.

6. Can I keep using the Co-funded Marketing Online Lead Form?
 Answer: You can continue to use the Co-funded Marketing Online
Lead Form through 2008 however, we strongly urge you to begin
using GPP to enter your leads as soon as possible.
7. I’m a Software Value Incentive (SVI) Business Partner, where do I
go to put in my leads? Can I use the Co-funded Marketing Online
Lead Form?
 Answer: To submit opportunities for Software Value Incentive (SVI)
eligibility consideration you must enter your co-marketing
generated opportunity into Global Partner Portal and not use
the Co-funded Marketing online lead form.
Opportunities created by IBM in Global Partner Portal from a
Co-funded Marketing online lead form will be excluded from
SVI submission.
