Definiton
• Direct marketing is an interactive system of
marketing which uses one or more advertising
media to effect a measurable response and/or
transaction at any location.
• Direct marketing is a database-driven process of
directly communicating with targeted customers
or prospects using any medium to obtain a
measurable response or transaction via one or
multiple channels.

What is Direct Marketing?
• Direct marketing brings the message directly to
the customer.
• Telemarketing is perhaps one of the most well
known- and almost universal.
• Telemarketing involves calling customers one at a
time in an effort to make them purchase.
• People handing out flyers on the street is also
class as Telemarketing.
Direct mail
• Direct mail is commonly used
form of direct marketing.
– This can happen when
marketer develop, or
purchase a list of name, and
addresses then sent the
advertising mail.
• The far less expensive way of
doing this is by email (spam).
– Links within the email can
direct customer to the seller
website.
Graphics
• It is important for the direct
marketers to get the
message across quickly as
most of the marketing is
excluded as fast as its sent
out.
• The website for example
need to be simple for
anyone to use and easy.
• The email/post needs to be
memorable and attract
users attention.
