Any act or performance that one party can
offer to another that is essentially intangible
and does not result in the ownership of
anything.

• Government Sector
– Courts, employment services, hospitals, loan agencies, military
services, police and fire departments, postal services,
regulatory agencies and schools.
• Private Non-profit Sector
– Museums, charities, mosques, colleges, foundations and
hospitals.

– Airlines, banks, hotels, insurance companies, law firms,
management consulting firms, medical practices, motionpicture companies, plumbing-repair companies and real estate
firms.

• Pure tangible good
– The offering consists primarily of a tangible good
– Example: soap, toothpaste, salt
– No services accompany the product
• Tangible good with accompanying services
– The offering consists of a tangible good accompanied by one
or more services.
