The 35th Annual Caples Awards
presented by Direct Marketing News
This year we’ve revamped Caples.
New format.
New timing.
New awards show.
For 35 years the Caples Awards has
celebrated creative solutions to the
toughest marketing problems, as well
as the people behind those solutions.
We’re MODERNIZING the entire awards program
into a three-day festival of collaboration and
shared wisdom in New York:
December 4 and 5: Judging
December 6:
A day of conference sessions
followed by the awards
presentation and cocktail party
We’re on the hunt: the hunt for work that creatively solves marketing
problems in a refreshingly new and unabashedly bold way.
Only Caples has the Courageous Client Award — a specific nod to the
brave client partner who not only says yes, but also stewards a
shockingly bold idea from inception to execution.
They stick their neck out for the work. And we are grateful.
For 2012, we revamped
the categories to reflect
today’s campaigns:

The ‘Courageous Client’ category is now open to all campaigns for entry.
‘Digital Content’ has been added as a new category this year.
‘Direct Mail’ pieces will now be judged in two categories: flat and dimensional.
‘Mobile Marketing’ and ‘Mobile Apps’ have been collapsed into a single category.
Direct Marketing News took ownership of
the Caples Awards in 2011. And this year,
as always, we are guided by the same high
standards to staying relevant to an international audience, while examining the latest
technologies shaping campaigns of the future.
This partnership offers Caples a robust channel
in print and online to promote and drive the awards,
as well as present a first-class event to celebrate
the achievements of global creative leaders.
Direct Marketing News covers Caples from
the start of entries through the final
announcement of winners, in its monthly print
edition, as well as online at dmnews.com,
and through our social media channels such
as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
Last year, the Caples General Chair was
Christa Carone, CMO of Xerox Corp.
This year’s General Chair is
Torrence Boone, Managing
director of agency business
development, Google America.
Caples is about creatives judging creative,
a peer-to-peer process like no other.
Every year 50 creative directors from around the world
gather in New York to pore through entries looking for
inspiring, innovative, and courageous marketing ideas.
The awards will be announced
and presented on December 6, 2012.
Several hundred creatives and marketers will be
in attendance to view all finalists work on display
and find out who will take home the top honors.
Deadline for entries is …
Don’t miss the chance to take part.
