Cancer Full Moon
For those of you who are not familiar with esoteric
philosophy – or do not know it well – I will remind
you that all is energy. Thus you should simply relax
and try to feel the energy rather then concern
yourself with understanding everything.
All is Energy!
During the lecture you can ask questions or make
comments. After the meditation you may also ask
questions.

What do we know about Water?

Reflective
Feelings
Emotions
Sensitive
Beliefs are based on feelings rather
than on reason, passion, or
practicality.
Perceive life through their emotions
What about Water people?
Water rises into the air
and falls as rain,
nurturing the land.
Need close emotional
relationships, and rarely
have superficial affairs.
So what happens when we put
the mode of cardinal together
with the element of water?
We get Cancer?
Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac and thus the
fourth stage of development.
 The Cancer need is …
not one of individual survival as it was in the first
three signs. Here, it is eternal survival through
perpetuation of the species.
 It is the sign of fertility and nurture, and Cancers
have strong identification with these matters in
one form or another.

In spite of their emotional sensitivity,
they are strong-willed and have no
trouble expressing what they want, then
finding a way to get it.
Cancers who feel threatened or suspect that
their attempts may be unsuccessful, often hide
their true ambitions until a more comfortable
situation occurs.
Cancers are doers.
They set out to accomplish
things and, one way or
another, they want to obtain
their goals.
Rather than direct
confrontation or
request, they are
more apt to resort to
using emotional
appeal.
They wear their hearts on their sleeves
Cancers react emotionally to
everything they experience in
life.
Many Cancers succeed in life because
their genuine concern for the welfare of
others inspires loyalty as well as
cooperation.
Cancer’s Astrological Symbol
A crab is able to walk or run sideways. Similarly, Cancer
natives can sometimes “move about” in life, in a figurative
sense, in an indirect manner. The crab's body is covered by
a carapace (shell). Cancer natives are self-protective and
sensitive, and often retreat into themselves when hurt.

Cancer’s Astrological Glyph
Cancer’s glyph, or symbol, may
represent the breasts as a symbol of the
nurturing qualities of the sign.
The Cancer Myth
Mother means different things to different
people.
strong and sustaining
safety and pleasure and warmth
Mother
What does Mother
mean to you?
destructive and dark
devouring, possessing emotion
which threatens to suffocate
For Cancer, the experience of
Mother in all its forms is rooted
in his/her inner life.
He never wholly escapes
Mother, for he must learn to
become Mother.
We all have come from
mothers!
Mother is always an enigma for Cancer.
Often they are running away - from the past, from
childhood, from Mother.
Before there were ever gods on Mount
Olympus, or heroes to fight the Trojan
War, there was the Mother Goddess.
Mother is as powerful to a
child as Mother Earth once
was to our ancestors. She is
huge, vast, mysterious - the
source of food and life, the
giver or withholder of love
and comfort.
Mother Earth
always had a consort.
What does this mean, when we
consider that it is a myth closely
bound up with Cancer?
The consort can also be a son!
We’ll now mention some of the
challenges to Cancer.
Remember though we are
talking about the energy of
Cancer and there are many
types of energy.

Moon, the exoteric ruler of Cancer,
wants to build forms. A hard shell hides
the deep emotional nature. All changes
stir him, often to a negative reaction.
The Exoteric Ruler
of Cancer is the Moon
Esoteric ruler Neptune bestows inspiration of
a high order and the invisible assistance to
bring it into reality. His impressions manifest
a vivid imagination, and are nourishment for
the soul if this frequency is constructively
used.
The Esoteric Ruler
of Cancer is Neptune
In the two rulers of this sign—the Moon and Neptune—
you have the symbols of a close relationship between
the Mother of all Forms and the God of the Waters, that
is between the two planets.
Ray III.— The mass movement
towards liberty, release and
light, so dominant Rays today,
is caused by the energy of this
sign.
Cancer – Rays 3 and 7
Ray VII — To create a
foundation via organization of
humanity.
Each sign represents a different aspect of man’s
development.
This is the story of the individual Christ, crucified upon the
cross of matter, and incarnated in each human being, God,
incarnate in matter.
The Labors of Hercules
The Labours of Hercules was
written in 1936 by Alice Bailey
wherein Hercules needs to
complete 12 tasks – one in each
sign.
The Labour in Cancer
The Capture of the Doe
At the fourth gate, Hercules stands
in silence. He looks across to a far
horizon where the temple of the
Lord, the shrine of the Sun God,
can be seen, and, on a nearby hill, a
slender fawn.
, Each maid deludes him
and tries to foil his efforts
He wants to keep it for himself
Hercules completes his task
“again and yet again must all the sons
of men, who are the sons of God, seek
the golden antlered fawn and bear it to
the holy place; again and yet again”
“again and yet again must all the sons of men,
who are the sons of God, seek the golden
antlered fawn and bear it to the holy place;
again and yet again”
Interpretation of the myth
The sign of Cancer is known as
the gateway to incarnation,
and represents the mass or
instinctual consciousness.
