History of The Chinook Tribe
The Chinook People have lived on the Columbia
River for thousands of years.
The Chinook were very good traders.
They traded slaves and elk hide armour to the
people in the North.
The Chinook tribe has not been formally
acknowledged by the U.S. government.
Since 1979 they have been working to get
evidence to prove their right to be recognized.
