To know the different types of visitor attractions and
how they are managed.

Give examples of which are managed by private,
public or voluntary organisations.
For the assessment you need only concentrate on
domestic accommodation providers.
You need to explain the role of a

•Heritage attractions.
You need to provide examples of each one and
say if it is a private or public company.
Natural attractions are those that
have been formed by nature and
include mountains, caves, beaches,
forests rivers and lakes.

Built attractions some have free admission but some charge for entrance.
They are man made; some are built to attract tourists, while others are built for
different purposes but now also attract visitors.
These are some examples of built attractions.
•Country parks
•Gardens
•Leisure and theme parks
•Steam / heritage railways
•Wildlife attractions and zoos.
•Places of worship
•Farms
•Historic houses / castles
•Museums / art galleries
Find at least three examples and describe what they are and if they charge
admission or are they free. Which are private and which are public.
Heritage attractions
The aim of these attractions is to conserve and protect historical and past
traditions, events and ways of living that reflect our history and culture.
They include stately homes, castles as well as hertitage coasts and trails.

4. Who looks after old Harry Rocks. Are they public or private?
