The glaciers
Once upon a time our earth
was ruled by glaciers.The
glaciers picked up all sorts of
things and crushed them,
turning them into TILL. The till
was dropped by the glacier
and turned into a DRUMLIN,
which is a hill in the shape of an
Wave Erosion
• The waves hit the rocks on the shore this IMPACT

causes the rock to break apart.
The waves also cause ABRASION which are scratches
in rock.
The small pieces of rock are carried down the beach and
DEPOSITED on the other side. This process is called
long shore drift.
The Beach
The beach was formed when
erosion caused pieces of rock
and soil to mix.
The beach can have many
different forms like a SPIT which
is a finger shaped landform
jutting out into the sea.
Erosion By Water
• The drumlins are eroded in many ways but
the main way is with water. The water
collects on the top of the drumlin and then
begins to run down. This water is called
RUNOFF. The runoff cuts little paths in the
drumlin called RILLS.Once rills become
larger and deeper they are called
GULLIES which are only filled when it
rains.
Erosion By Wind


The wind hits the drumlin and moves
pieces of till away
The wind erodes layers in the drumlin
called LOESS
Ponds, Erratics,and Moraines
Oh My!
A KETTLE POND is formed when a piece of
a glacier breaks off and melts forming a pond
A MORAINE is formed by a glacier that
pushed till in front of itself like a bulldozer
and then retreated leaving a ridge behind.
An ERRATIC is a big boulder found in a
strange place. It was put there by…glaciers
