Challenges and
Solution
• Commitment of partners, especially the local government is
sometimes constrained by the tight government activities at
the end of the year.
• Some local NGOs and universities can not provide the baseline
survey enumerators causing delays of data collection and SNV
finally decided to do our own baseline survey.
• Many coconut, cassava and coffee farmers are not motivated to
care for and develop the agricultural /plantation itself and only
seen as a side livelihood. In this case SNV sees the importance
of the private sector to participate and provide guidance to
farmers on how to maintain and develop the existing
plantations. Farmer’s skill improvement will increase the
quantity and quality of agricultural production and the private
sector will benefit for the regularity of fresh supply.
