Lessons Learned
National Platform for DRR
• Established collaborative networks at the international and
domestic level prior to the establishment of Planas PRB were
fundamental to the PLANAS PRB
• PLANAS PRB is being led by the University Forum, illustrating
that a non-government entity can lead multi-stakeholder
policy discussions
• Strategies to engage different stakeholders need to be
appropriate to the target
• Successful models for National Platforms sometimes are first
evident at the sub-national level
