What is your chosen
environmental issue?
• Our chosen
environmental issue is
the occ carbon foot
print. It is high because
occ staff and students
are using to much
energy. And polluting
our beaches
What caused your issue of
concern?
• 1, OCC is incorrectly using their energy by leaving
lights, fans and air condition on at the time when
nobody is around. By Leaving these equipment on
they are wasting your electricity bills and harming
the environment at the same time, now the incorrect
use of non renewable resources. Occ is also
incorrectly using non renewable resources by
throwing it away. Instead they could crush it up then
make a statue like a school did in a state in Australia.
Now the main point that caused our issue of concern
is that occ is not using their resources properly,
how? Well the gas (carbon emission) that the energy
produces is effecting the environment.
Why don’t occ use solar power?
• Well at one point a class 9kay was working
on an assignment that would help the
environment. The class was split up into
four groups; each group was assigned with
different tasks. Group one was dealing with
the solar power, group two was dealing
with earth worms that world eat food scrap
and produce some sort of manure, group
two was dealing with the water roots and
finally group four is dealing with recycling
paper. The class was hot on the road until it
started falling apart.
Why is your chosen issue of concern?
• The cause of the issue was because the
energy wasted at occ is effecting the
environment. Well the energy used at occ
produce a gas called carbon emission. What
will happen is it causes global warming,
breaking of the o-zone layer and climate
change. What happens is if the o-zone layer
breaks then we wont have the natural air we
breath and if there was climate change then
thinks like hail storms and other natural
weather disaster will happen.
Who is concerned about your chosen
issue of concern?
• The people that are concern about the issue
are students some teachers and the Asian
community. The reasons why students (9k)
are worried are because of the things we do
effects the environment. Teachers are
worried because of the energy cost and the
environment change. And the Asian
community I just added in.
What damage has your chosen concern
accomplished to our environment?
• The damage to the environment has caused a lot of issues, before the
17th century there was nothing called global warming or climate
change. But now in the 21st century, the world is getting worried
about the pollution, usage of energy that produces greenhouse
emission, fossil fuels and mining. All of these doings are caused by
people. Why is greenhouse emission bad? Well greenhouse emission
absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range; it
affects the ozone layer by break off little pieces of the ozone. The
gases just don’t affect but even animals, for example the ice caps in
Antarctica are melting so the bears, penguins and seals will have no
place to live in by that the animal habitats are gone.
• What can we do to control the impact of your chosen issue on our
environment?
• Well to conclude this news I am going to tell you how to save the
environment and to save your money. First; turn off all lights that
have no one in the room, two with computers on standby they are still
using electricity so by turning it off you would save the cost and last
is with all air condition, fans, lights, computers, printers and other
appliances they all should be turned off. So if you want occ to have
better equipment start following the rules I just gave you. That’s news
