WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL
MUSICAL ENSEMBLE?
By kai.o
WORKING IN AN ENSEMBLE.
When you you work in a group
of people and can produce
music or replicate song with
them it is a great experience and
will be worth it in the long term
because it will give you the
chance to develop your
communication with others,
discuss your opinions, and one
of the best thing will be sharing
your music with friends or
people that appreciate the same
music.
HOW TO START UP AN ENSEMBLE
How to start up your music
ensemble if have this idea of
forming a group then you are
going to need to search for the
skills that are compatible to
your musical enjoyment such
as an average range of abilities
on instruments, same ideas of
music you don’t want to have
complete opposites on opinion
or you’ll get nothing done just
argue about what to do, you
also don’t want to have one
man or women carrying the
band.
ORGANIZATION
A good Band will always need to have
some kind of organization in the group
to keep them in check such as organizing
rehearsals, group meeting, or just a
general get together through the weeks.
Organizing for more involved bands
need to also have well organized gigs,
performances, or concerts may they be
small or big things in your music career
you will still need to plan and organize
them. To not have organization within
the band will lead to members being late
unaware of things that’s going on with
the band and just have a lack of
structure in the group.
BAND COMMITMENT.
When starting out in a band you need to make
some choices about what you want from the
band and what the band wants from you. Such
as: Do you have the same goals that you want
to achieve. Do you have the same interests of
music. Are you willing to commit to the band.
Will you be with the band part time for the fun
of it or will you work with the band full time
and make a career out of it. You will also have
to schedule rehearsal time and meeting meeting
for the band to keep up with each other.
HAVING CLEAR GOALS.
Whether the bands goals are
small or large there will be
challenges for you to overcome
for instance getting along with
your members and may happen
more than once, finding shows
to give performances, and all
stay at the same level of
commitment through out.
During these challenges you
must get on and find a way to
get around them and don’t
become overwhelmed by them.
COMMUNICATION
For the band to do well and progress
together they will have to communicate
to one another not communicating in a
band would create a boundary in the
group and they will find it to be more
difficult to get things done so group
discussions in a band are good skills that
should be developed through out their
time together. Also over time you will be
able to communicate through your music
have like little signals that inform the
group that you want to do something
(the signals are chosen by you and have
their meanings). Communicating with the
crowd to get involved some how is
always a good skill.
GETTING RECOGNITION FOR
BOOKING AND PUBLICITY
If you need to raise your bands profile you’ll need to be
proactive and keep updated and focused if you want to
get into performing at concerts you need also have to
gain people who can spread the word ‘networking’ is one
of the most effective ways to raise your bands profile. It
will gain you supporters and other types of people then
you have a higher chance to get concerts booked for
you, or produce CDs and brochures, and even sponsor
your band.
GETTING INTO MAKING APPEARANCES ONLINE.
Making online appearances that will increase your
publicity locally and worldwide this is probably your best
chance in this day and age to get your band recognized
around the world and with give you a better idea of how
effective your music is to an audience from all around
the world.

SKILLS THAT THEY SHOW
• Before performances they’ll do rehearsals to warm up to do this they must
be organized in their band they must also be organized as they are on tour
quite a bit and need to know when and where they need to be
• They have shown commitment throughout their years of performing.
though there was a point in 2002 when a member left for reasons… in the
middle of their tour but they quickly got a replacement .
• Communication is shown as they perform and give each other the right
idea of what's going on through music and talking.
• They have had to make hard decisions in the past with members of the
band.
• As they have to be around each other often on tours and when rehearsing
