GEF PAS programme was approved at the last
GEF Council meeting in April


Meeting in Palau finalised the issues of
governance structure of the PAS. ( see
project document)

GEF is currently working with donors to
organise a trust fund to facilitate
coordination , monitoring and evaluation,
and additional cofinancing

Preliminary informal discussions have
occurred with the GEF and SPREP with
regards to coordination of the programme

Hopeful of having an initial meeting of
GEF-PAS steering committee during the
first half of 2009.
