Sustainable development education seeks to
ensure that learners:
 Acquire knowledge of the principles of sustainable
development
 Develop understanding of the relevance of the principles to
their own lives and to the lives of others
 Develop the skills needed to take decisions guided by
these principles
 Value the importance of these principles in sustaining their
own wellbeing in addition to the wellbeing of our society,
economy and planet.

Develop an awareness and
