Biography Scrapbook Project
A SCRAPBOOK OF YOUR LIFE:
• A scrapbook is something that you keep to
remember the most important memories in your
life.
• You will be creating a scrapbook based on the
person you will be reading about.
• There is a set rubric for this project. Please ask
any questions you have over the three weeks you
have to complete the project. Start early!
Materials
• You will receive two pieces of scrapbook paper
that you will use to create 2 pages about your
famous person. This is an at home project.
• You do not have to buy any special supplies, but
you are encouraged to be creative. You may add
stickers, cut outs, magazines, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
• Read a biography about a famous person. Make
sure I approve your biography.
• Take notes on the Biography Book Report
graphic organizer. I will collect your notes with
your scrapbook pages.
• Create two pages from your famous person’s
scrapbook using the checklist handed out in
class.
Examples:
Due Date
• This is a two-part project that will result in both
a written scrapbook and oral presentation.
• Finished Scrapbooks are due no later
than Tuesday, February 4th. No scrapbooks
will be accepted after this date but you may turn
in projects early.
• Oral reports will take place the week of
February 4th. Presentation rubric will be
handed out at a later time.
What I MUST include on the scrapbook
pages?
• Person’s Name, Date of Birth, Date of
Death (if available)
• A diary entry
• 4 photos/Memories
• 3 Souvenirs
DIARY
• Create a diary entry from an important event in your
person’s life told from the person’s point of view.
• Must be written from You should use the notes from
your Biography Book Report graphic organizer.
• The event could be happy, sad, funny, whatever you
like!
• Some examples may be: Birth of a child, marriage,
loss of a loved one, or a day you received an award
• This can be put into an envelope and taped on a
page.
• Must be 8 sentences in length
4 Photos / Memories
• 4 photos/Memories- Draw, color, and label at
least four important memories from the
person's life. Pictures can be drawn, from the
internet or cut out of magazines. Each photo
needs a caption. (layout is your choice, see
examples.)
3 SOUVENIRS
• Draw, create, collect or find three things that
the person would have put into their scrapbook.
These objects must be important to the main
character and fit into the scrapbook. Neatness
and creativity is important.

• Secret Box
Commemorative Stamp
• Draw and color a postage stamp representing
your person. The person's name should be
clearly visible. The stamp should be at least 5 X 7
inches.
MUSIC• You will need to research what type of music
your character listened to and what current
song best describes your character.
• If you cannot find the type of music they
listened to, then research the popular
music during that time period along with
a famous composer.
SECRET BOX
• This is a secret that your person would have kept
from the rest of the world.
• It does not need to be an actual object that was
hidden.
• It can be an obstacle or difficult challenge that
your person's had to overcome.
• It could also be something that they are afraid or
ashamed for others to find out.
• Write a description of the secret and WHY that
could have been a deep secret of your person.
• Must be at least 5 sentences with a
creative illustration.
