Week of October 19th-23rd
Sight Words
and away
We My Like
Writing
We will be practicing and working on writing independently.
This means that your child will have to sound out words and
use sight words to form a sentence. I will start off by us
sounding out words together and modeling writing. I will fade
out and let them go on their own, The objective is for your
child to write an opinionated text by the end of the 9 weeks.
For example, I could read a story about about colors. They
may write I like red or I do not like red. . These are sight
words should be spelled correctly and other words sounded
out. We will be working on beginning sentences with an
upper case letter and ending it with a period.
Farm
This week we will begin our second
week of our farm unit. We will talk
about animals and crops. We will do
many fun centers and activities based
around our unit over the next two
weeks, please discuss farm life with
your kids at home.
We need a cute farm snack for
FRIDAY, if anyone wants to volunteer!
Phonics/Reading
This week we will focus on the
letters U,V, and W. We will focus on
the formation, sound, and neatness
of these letters. We will learn how
to blend sounds together. We will
also practice writing these letters
correctly. We will also review letter
sounds. Please work on this at
home.
