Locality of the school and surrounding area-farms
* Use atlases and globes to locate England and Catforth on map
Language and Literacy
*Observe daily weather patterns
Labels, lists and captions (classroom signs and posters)
*Introduce 4 compass directions
Stories with Predictable language (Old McDonald, Over in
the Meadow, Farmer Duck Etc)
Identify local features such as roads, fields, Village Hall, canal
>Discuss city, town, village, factory, farm, house etc
Phonics and reading tasks, drama and role play and
speaking and listening opportunities

Programming (units 1 &2)
Navigating around the farm. Construct indoor or outdoor farm area and program
floor robot to get around.
Use Daisy the Dinosaur or Bee Bot on i-tunes and use 2 Control NXT

Sending emails safely to farmers/machinery producers enquiring about
machinery/products

Unit: Buddhism
This unit enables pupils to examine Buddhist
