ICT – drawing software – Paint and 2Simple
IPAD drawing apps, Purple Mash
Geography
Locality of the school and surrounding area-farms
* Use atlases and globes to locate England and Catforth on map
Language and Literacy
*Observe daily weather patterns
Labels, lists and captions (classroom signs and posters)
*Introduce 4 compass directions
Stories with Predictable language (Old McDonald, Over in
the Meadow, Farmer Duck Etc)
Identify local features such as roads, fields, Village Hall, canal
>Discuss city, town, village, factory, farm, house etc
Phonics and reading tasks, drama and role play and
speaking and listening opportunities
Computing
Programming (units 1 &2)
Navigating around the farm. Construct indoor or outdoor farm area and program
floor robot to get around.
Use Daisy the Dinosaur or Bee Bot on i-tunes and use 2 Control NXT
E-safety
Sending emails safely to farmers/machinery producers enquiring about
machinery/products

Setting up class rules and establishing routines

Identify basic plants and their parts (roots,
leaves, flowers etc.
*Classify according to own criteria-plant we can
eat/can’t eat etc
*categorise common plants into deciduous and
evergreen.

Unit: Buddhism
This unit enables pupils to examine Buddhist
relationships with others and the world and how this is
shaped. The content focus is on Buddha.
