Third Grade
2016-2017
About Me:
I have been teaching third grade at
Driswood since it opened.
Before teaching at Driswood I taught first
grade at Page Jackson for seven years.
I am originally from Marcy, NY and I
received my Bachelors Degree from
Shepherd College.
I recently was married so my name has
changed 
Rewards/Incentives:
We have the Outstanding Owls that
students will be able to earn and
spend every 9 weeks at the Owl
Store.
I will also give students money to
use to buy items. They will record
earnings in a log. They will receive
money for good behavior, class jobs,
and completing homework on time.
Behavior/Rules:
I expect students to follow the classroom rules
which we will discuss and create on the first day of
school.
We will move clips if students do not follow the
rules.
I will send notes home in the agenda if we have
problems with following the rules.
We also have the Red Reminders for extreme
behavior problems.
I expect students to treat everyone the way they
want to be treated.
Some 3rd Grade Goals:
3rd grade requires work and focus.
I expect your child to always try their best.
Some goals for this year are:
Writing stories that include details and clear
sequences of events
Spell accurately
Build vocabulary usage
Know from memory and be able to explain
multiplication facts through 10x10
Solve word problems
Tell time
Perform multi-digit arithmetic problems
Grading:
Grades will be given in the following subjects (at least one per week):
ELA (9 or more grades)
Math (9 or more grades)
Science (7 or more grades)
Social Studies (7 or more grades)
Health (4 or more grades)
Please note you may not see science or social studies grades based on what we are teaching,
but by the end of the 9 weeks we will have 7 or more grades for each area.

60-69 D
70-79 C
80-89 B
90-100 A
O, S, N, U will be given in art, music, library, physical education and
non-academic behavior.
You will be given live grades login and password.
