Objectives
• To introduce Basic Exercises for
therapeutic measures and planning
techniques with a view to handle new
challenges and issues in Rehabilitating a
patient
Learning Outcomes
• At the end of this course, learners will:
• Gain knowledge about gliding techniques for joint
mobilisation.
• Obtain comprehensive knowledge regarding the
muscle strengthening exercises.
• Gain an overall view about the re- education of
muscles.
• Obtain comprehensive knowledge regarding the
techniques used for paralysed patient’s independent
ambulation in bed
• Finally with a view to normal posture and gait
deviations

• a. Instructions and demonstrations of the
Procedures.
• b. Demonstration & application of
mobilisation glides
• c. Practical demonstration in strengthening
exercises(upper limb, lower limb, back, neck)
• d. Demonstration and practice of PNF
techniques
Practical
• e. Demonstration and practice of aerobic
exercises for children and adults.
• f. Demonstration and practice of MAT
exercises
• g. Demonstration of Re-education exercises
using re-education board.
Assignments
• Assignment 1 – presentation by student (topic
depends on the sessions) due date with the
ongoing classes
• Assignment 2- Exercise Physiology –
Physiological changes during exercises .Due
date- November 30th 2013
