R.I.C.E. Treatment Cont.
• R:est is key to prevent further
injury. It is also important because
your body needs to conserve energy
to have time to properly heal.
• I:ce is used to limit blood flow,
reduce swelling and decrease pain
• *REMEMBER: Never leave ice directly on the
skin for more than 20mins. This may result in
tissue damage.
R.I.C.E. Treatment Cont.
•C:ompression aids in the healing
process by reducing swelling.
•E:levation ensures the blood is
circulating correctly so no blood clots
form and also helps in reducing swelling.
Tissue Healing
