The “old way”
In the “old days” video
had to be searched
through and marked
where the film was to be
cut & pasted back
together. This took
months to finish a
project!
The “old way”
Video was black and
white, scratchy and
skipped about from
video frame to
another. There are
abrupt changes from
scene to scene.
Today!
Today there are many
ways to import
video into
computers and you
don’t have to wait
or be a professional
to get quality
movies!
Importing from VCR
VHS tapes can be
used to import
video into the
computer but
the quality will
be grainy.
Capturing from Video Devices



Each video camera has a way of
connecting with your computer.
Firewire cables are used for high
quality consumer or professional
video streams and other high
bandwidth
entertainment applications. It has
replaced Parallel SCSI in many
applications.
USB cables are appropriate
for high and low bandwidth
computer peripherals such as mass
storage, video, audio, scanners,
printers, keyboards, and just about
any peripheral.
Importing from Storage Devices



You can import video
clips, pictures and audio
files from CDs, Flash
Drives, and even some
Floppy Drives.
In order to save onto a
CD you must have a CD
burner and a program
(IBM RecordNow) to
write onto the CD.
Flash Drives act like
Floppy Drives in that you
can just drop a file onto
its image and it is saved.
