What is the purpose of draping?
Draping
The drape serves to protect
the client from infectious
and contagious disease,
and protect the clients
clothing
Comfort and protection of
the client must always be
considered during
cosmetology services
The following instructions are important before
draping a client for any type of service

Prepare materials and
supplies for the service
 Sanitize hands
 Ask the client to remove
all neck and hair jewelry
and store it away
 Remove objects from the
client’s hair
 Turn the client’s collar to
the inside
 Proceed with the
appropriate draping
method
Purpose of neck strip
A neck strip or towel are
used for sanitary
reasons, to prevent
contact of the cape
with the client's skin
Draping for wet hair services
