Original Purpose: an application to help
musicians dictate music from a recording
No longer dictate music the old way by listening
to a CD, mp3, etc. over and over
Transcribe! allows you to slow down a recording
to ease the transcription process
Also has many other features to aid a musician

Main Features
Transcribe! plays and records audio files
Capable of applying various effects to audio:
Change in speed
Change in pitch
Adjusting equalizer settings
Create excerpts of sound files

Does not support MIDI
Very friendly user interface
Easier to use than other programs like Sound Forge
How it Works
Import an audio file into the program (.wav, .mp3, etc.)
Toolbar at top of screen contains main functions of program
Functions like other audio players: play, pause, stop, rewind, fast
forward
Displays length of piece and current time within piece
Wave graph illustrates the music
Highlight different sections of the wave graph
to play only certain passages
Enable the loop function
Bottom of the screen displays interactive keyboard
Click on notes to hear pitch
Displays frequencies of music in wave graph
Handy for picking out notes of a chord
Slowing Down the Music
Main feature is to slow down music
Transcribe! slows down music without changing pitch
Adjust speed according to percentage:
Ranges from 5%-200%
