Using Line 500 since 2005 (12 users).
Want to sell in Regulated markets therefore required a “validated
computer system”

Why was Diagnostics a good Candidate?

Standalone implementation
No FCE usage (unlike the rest of the group)
No initial requirement for the ERP 1000 additional components
(Actionable Lists and Sage Report Designer)
• Migration could be treated as a ‘re-implementation’ for validation
purposes.

Migration Project Steps
• Initially evaluated ERP 1000 in 2010 including new features
(Actionable lists and Sage Report Designer). Sage assisted with
language issues.
• Several trial runs of the migration process

Things to look out for
• Forms – Migration Wizard needs careful configuration else a daunting
amount of errors appear by default.
• Forms Designer (now Layout Manager) very different.
• Redundant processes that may lock records (scheduled restart Sage
ERP 1000 services every night which clears them)
• Sensitive to version of Java VM
• Not all VB6 FCEs work without modification.
• Actionable Lists and Sage Report Designer can be temperamental
