Want to sell in Regulated markets therefore required a “validated computer system” 7/17/2015 Slide 3 Why was Diagnostics a good Candidate? • • • • Small user base Standalone implementation No FCE usage (unlike the rest of the group) No initial requirement for the ERP 1000 additional components (Actionable Lists and Sage Report Designer) • Migration could be treated as a ‘re-implementation’ for validation purposes. 7/17/2015 Slide 4 Migration Project Steps • Initially evaluated ERP 1000 in 2010 including new features (Actionable lists and Sage Report Designer). Sage assisted with language issues. • Several trial runs of the migration process • User demonstrations / training • GO LIVE – March 2012 Line 500 v7.0 Line 500 v7.1 ERP 1000 v3 + SP1 Forms Migration 7/17/2015 Slide 5 ERP 1000 Benefits • • • • • • • • • Windows Logon Modern look and feel of the User Interface Much improved browse functionality Full descriptions of coded fields e.g. Shipping Note Required (N/Y/H) Date pickers Actionable Lists? Sage Report Designer? Database structure / server side components almost identical to L500 Performance of web browser user interface. • FUTURE BENEFITS – Continued development from Sage – Sage CRM integration 7/17/2015 Slide 6 Things to look out for • Forms – Migration Wizard needs careful configuration else a daunting amount of errors appear by default. • Forms Designer (now Layout Manager) very different. • Redundant processes that may lock records (scheduled restart Sage ERP 1000 services every night which clears them) • Sensitive to version of Java VM • Not all VB6 FCEs work without modification. • Actionable Lists and Sage Report Designer can be temperamental 7/17/2015 Slide 7 Plans for the Future • Project underway to determine group migration plan • ERP 1000 v4 due for release end of the year (Sage CRM Integration) • New things to consider – FCEs – Switching on new features, Actionable Lists, Sage Report Designer 7/17/2015 Slide 8 Conclusion • • • • • • Reasonably straight forward migration process Provides improved front end appearance and usability Minimal user retraining Positive user feedback Possible benefits from Actionable Lists and Sage Report Designer Current product! 7/17/2015 Slide 9 Questions Any Further Questions? 7/17/2015 Slide 10
