Double Circulatory System
The mammals have a double circulatory system.
Blood passes through the heart twice before being
pumped to the tissues of the body. The circulatory
system can be divided into two:
Pulmonary (including the heart and lungs).
Systemic (including the heart and the rest of body).
This means the heart has 2 sides!

Task
 Using the text book relate the structure of the
following components of the heart to their function:
 Atrium
 Ventricle, left and right
 Bicuspid valve
 Tricuspid valve
 Semi-lunar valves
 Vena cava
 Pulmonary artery
 Pulmonary vein
