Cath Lab
A catheter is a small plastic
tube that is inserted in an
artery and extended to the
heart to deliver a contrast
solution that appears on the
monitor. This technique is
used to evaluate the coronary
arteries and left ventricle.
Stress Testing
A 12 lead EKG is
used to monitor
the patient’s
heart function.
You will learn EKG
rhythm and
interpretation
that is valuable in
stress testing.
Echocardiography
You will learn to manipulate the transducer to obtain many different views of the
heart. Each view is a different “slice” of the heart that is displayed on the
monitor.
