September registration period
From 26 Sep 2011 to 18 Oct 2011

September registration covers:
Category A subjects
Category B subjects
Category C subjects (Other
Languages – June 2012 Series)

Registration for Category A subjects
1) 24 New Senior Secondary subjects
will be offered
2) For subjects with an SBA component,
schools are required to fulfill the SBA
requirements

Registration for Category A subjects (cont’)
3) For practical subjects requiring
laboratory/workshop, schools should have
declared they can provide the facilities for
practical work
4) For subjects with options, a selection of
paper / module / set / physical activities (for
Physical Education) / musical instruments
(for Music) is required

Registration for Category B subjects
1) 30 Applied Learning (ApL) subjects
approved by the Education Bureau
2) There are no public examinations for ApL
subjects. Assessments are undertaken by
course providers. HKEAA is responsible for
monitoring the process and the moderation
of final assessment results

Registration for Category B subjects (cont’)
3) Any candidate who is a Year 2 student of an
ApL subject but repeats S5 in the school
year 2011/2012 may register for ‘ApL
subject only’ by school with support of
school principal and course provider
4) Special approval from the HKEAA is required
prior to registration (ie on or before 26 Sep
2011)

September Registration for Category C
subjects
French language & Spanish language will be offered
in the June 2012 Series
The AS level question papers of the Cambridge
International Examinations (CIE) will be used
Candidates may enter for the same Category C
subject(s) only once in either Nov 2011 Series or
June 2012 Series

7-Eleven in Hong Kong; or

Payment Deadline

5 p.m. on 26 Oct 2011 (Wed)

Late payment
Payment made after 5 pm on 26 Oct but
before 5 pm on 3 Nov 2011, entries will be
accepted on payment of a supplementary fee
of HK$215 per candidate in addition to the
subject fees.
SEOs are advised to print the ‘Outstanding
Payment List (未清繳費紀錄)’ to check the
payment status of candidates.

Examination fee remission
Candidates eligible for financial
assistance from the Student Financial
Assistance Agency (SFAA) may apply
for examination fee remission.

Register via HKDSE Registration System
User Roles

Principal 校長
Use same User ID and login password for the SBA System /
June registration for Category C (Nov 2011) examination to
access the Registration System.

School Examination Officer (SEO)
考試事務主任
Use same User ID and login password for June registration.
User accounts and passwords are available for collection at
the HKEAA Wan Chai office.

Important Points to Note
Before Registration

Make sure all students entering for the 2012
HKDSE Examination are bona fide S6 students
in the school year 2011/2012

Read carefully:
- “Instructions to Applicants 《報考須知》”
- “User Guide for the HKDSE Examination
Registration System 《香港中學文憑考試報名
系統使用者手冊》”
(available for download from 26 Sep 2011).

During Registration
1) Print the Candidate Entry Information Checklists
(CEICs) 「 考 生 報 名 資 料 核 對 表 」 for the
candidates to verify their entry data;
2) Update the registration records on the System if
amendment instructions are received from the
candidates and repeat step 1 above;
3) When all CEICs are correct -> Confirmation (by
SEO) in ONE BATCH;

Endorsement (by Principal) in ONE BATCH;

Endorsement should be completed on or before
the closing date of 18 Oct 2011;

SEO should print demand notes to candidates and
advise candidates to download the “Instructions
for Payment of Examination Fees 《繳付考試費用
須知 》” from the HKEAA website for details about
the payment methods.

Change of subject entry information
after the completion of registration are
subject to the approval of the HKEAA
and payment of supplementary fees.
