This is Mila.
She wants to make some
yummy trail mix.
Here are the ingredients she
needs to make 1 bag of trail
mix:
 10 cheerios
 7 pretzels
 9 pieces of Chex cereal
 6 m&m’s
Look! 3 of Mila’s friends
came over and they want to
make trail mix too!
Now they will make 4 bags of
trail mix.
How many of each ingredient
will Mila need now?
For 1 bag of trail mix she needs
10 cheerios.
How many cheerios will she need for
4 bags of trail mix?
4 x 10 =
40!
40 cheerios!
If Mila needs 7 pretzels for 1 bag
of trail mix...
How many pretzels will she and her friends
need for 4 bags of trail mix?
4x7=
28!
28 pretzels!
For 1 bag of trail mix, Mila needs
9 pieces of Chex cereal.
How many pieces will she need for 4 bags
of trail mix?
4x9=
36!
36 pieces of Chex cereal!
If Mila needs 6 m&m’s for 1 bag
of trail mix…
How many m&m’s will she and her friends
need to make 4 bags of trail mix?
4x6=
24!
24 m&m’s!
So for 4 bags of trail
mix, they need:
40 cheerios
28 pretzels
36 pieces of Chex cereal
24 m&m’s
Now Mila and her friends can
make their bags of yummy trail
mix!
