Coordinate Plane: two number lines that intersect at right angles.
X-axis: the horizontal axis.
Y-axis: the vertical axis.
Origin: where the axis intersect.
Quadrants: the four sections that make up the coordinate plane.
Ordered pair: identifies the location of a point.

Independent variable (x-axis): An
independent variable is the variable you
have control over, what you can choose
and manipulate.
Dependent Variable (y-axis): A
dependent variable is what you
measure in the experiment and what is
affected during the experiment. The
dependent variable responds to the
independent variable. It is called
dependent because it "depends" on the
