HONORS DIPLOMA CRITERIA
(Must Meet Seven of the Eight)
1. Four units of English
2. Four units of Mathematics at least Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry and
another higher level course or a four-year sequence of courses that contain
equivalent content
3. Four units of Science including Physics and Chemistry
4. Four units of Social Studies
5. Three units of one World (Foreign) Language or two units each of two
World (Foreign) Languages
1. One unit Fine Arts
2. Maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 on an unweighted grading scale
3. Obtain a composite score of 27 on the ACT or an equivalent composite
score on the 1210 SAT

Students must have received passing grades
in a minimum of five one-credit courses or the equivalent.
Ninth grade students must maintain a GPA of a 1.8
Tenth-twelfth grades must maintain a GPA of a 2.0
All requirements must be made in
the grading period immediately

Do NOT select BHS courses

ENROLLMENT OPTIONS
Any student interested in the PSEO Program must
circle 000008 on their Course Selection Sheet.
Students must also attend a MANDATORY meeting
with their parents on:
February 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
in the Performing Arts Center.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
EXEMPTION
There is a policy that permits
students to be exempt from PE
if they participate in a sport,
cheerleading, dance,
or marching band.

EXEMPTION
Students cannot do a combination
of PE exemption
and
physical education course.
EARLY GRADUATION
REQUIREMENTS
Students interested in early
graduation must apply in writing to
the principal and counselor one
year prior to the graduation date.
DROPPING A SUBJECT
A student may withdraw from a course
within the first two weeks without penalty,
providing the student’s course load does
not fall below five credits for that year.
If a course is dropped after the
first two weeks, a grade of a “F”
will be recorded.
SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY
Schedule changes may be considered for the
following reasons:
Change necessitated by physical health of a student
Completion of course in Summer School
Changes necessitated by failures
Mechanical error changes
Subject-level changes
Classroom balancing
