Phone Feature Changes and
Updates
Long Distance Authorization Code Changes
When placing long distance calls you will be prompted to enter your
authorization code (account key or ID). After the upgrade, the system will
display *******, when you should enter your code (instead of Enter Code)
and the tone is now 2 beeps. You only have one chance to correctly enter
the code (previously, up to 3 attempts to correctly enter the code were
allowed). If you mis-dial your code, hang up, and press redial. This will take
you back to the prompt to re-enter your authorization code.
It is quicker if you enter # after the code, for example:
9 + 1 + number + authorization code + # (pound sign)
or 9 + 011 + number + # (pound sign) + authorization code + # (pound
sign) for international
This will also affect fax machines. Please check any numbers that have bee
programmed into memory to add the pound sign after the authorization
code.
