List the four features the documents display. Then,
make three groups of three, and tell me what feature
you’re not going to use as a basis for grouping.
Here is what you should have come up with:
•The four features are colors, shapes, numbers and
sizes.
• I can’t group by color, since they’re all different. So I
have to group by shape, number or size.
•Size-wise, I can group the four small ones together
but not the two big ones.
•Numerically, I can group the four whole numbers
together or the three odd numbers.
•For shape, I can group the three four-sided figures.
